Features and Benefits
Maxcem Elite self-etch, self-adhesive resin cement for indirect restorations is simplicity refined – with higher bond strengths, predictable handling and exceptional ease-of- use – offering you best in class adhesion when compared to other leading self-adhesive cements. Easy cleanup, no hand mixing, and no refrigeration required. For more convenience, intraoral and root-canal tips allow for dispensing of material into hard-to-reach places. Maxcem Elite™ employs the same unique adhesive monomer used in Kerr's OptiBond family of bonding agents. The optimized resin matrix and filler systems improve wetting ability, resulting in greater adhesion to dentin.
FAQs
Yes, with the exception of Brown. That shade was discontinued in November 2014.
All product configurations for refills and kits stay the same.
Depending on inventory levels at your preferred Kerr dealer partner, we expect product to start shipping on or around 2/15/15 – 3/15/15.
No, the New and Improved formula will replace the current product immediately. The current product will no longer be available once inventory is depleted at dealers. We expect this transition to be complete by the end of 4/2015.
It is ok! We do understand that there will be instances customers will receive both old and new product in their shipments. The older product is still viable and you should continue to use it until you have completely transitioned to the new product.
You can differentiate the old vs. the new product easily by the packaging changes that have been made. Both the outside box and syringes look different from the original packaging, while maintaining the branding that has set Maxcem apart for years. The new boxes all state "New Look! Improved Bond Strength."
The resin matrix has been optimized to improve its wetting ability to establish a more intimate contact with dental substrates, dentin and enamel. Additionally, the patented redox initiator system, along with our patented 4:1 ratio automix delivery method, further maximizes Maxcem Elite's adhesive property.
Absolutely. Maxcem Elite is compatible with all indirect restorations. Anterior or posterior ceramics, veneers, PFMs, and metal restorations, and CAD/CAM materials.
Absolutely. Maxcem Elite has a rather strong affinity to titanium alloy, implant abutment material. Bond strength to titanium alloy is 41.5 MPa.
No refrigeration for Maxcem Elite is necessary. Please avoid excess heat, and refrigeration is always optional for optimum freshness.
The potential for patient sensitivity is greatly reduced when using Maxcem Elite compared to traditional total etch resin cement systems. This is primarily due to the fact that Maxcem Elite is a self-etch/self-adhering cement and there is no separate acid etching step to open dentin tubules. Therefore the risk of sensitivity is greatly reduced. Maxcem Elite was not designed to be used with a desensitizer and this additional step would provide no advantages.
