Making the Cut…
Why does one carbide cut better than another? You can bet that it has to do with how they are manufactured. Competitive burs are commonly manufactured with protective plating on the bur blades after fluting. This is done to reduce manufacturing cost, with the expectation that the residual plating will come off during the cutting process. While this may be happening with harder surfaces like porcelain and enamel, it will not occur when used with metals or softer materials like dentin. Which means that you will not acheive the kind of consistent cutting performance that you require from bur to bur.
Unlike competitive products, BluWhite Carbides Burs are plated prior to fluting. Each bur may cost a little more to manufacture, but we feel that the difference it can make in dependable performance is well worth it. Just review the comparative SEM photographs - which blade do you think will cut faster and smoother?
