Course Overview
This course/lecture is designed to address critical problems encountered when performing root canal therapy using modern techniques to solve them. Magnification, CBCT and state of the art instruments, irrigation and obturation techniques should allow the clinician to deal with diverse situations removing organic tissue and lowering the microbial bioburden in order to increase the potential for healing and long-term success.
Objectives
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the use of ultrasonic tips to remove dentin and to locate canals like the MB2.
- Practice the use of reciprocation and rotary instruments, with their advantages and disadvantages
- Identify what irrigants should be used in the root canal system and how to activate them in order to improve removal of organic tissue and biofilm.
- Recognize efficient obturation techniques like hydraulic condensation and continuous wave of condensation using injectable gutta-percha.
